The employer provides their employees with the opportunity to purchase company stock at a discounted price. Employees contribute to ESPPs via payroll deductions during the designated Offering period. The accumulated funds are then used to purchase company stock at a discount, on behalf of the employee. Employees are then able to sell those shares at market value to earn a profit.
